Vorbei an hochwandigen Felsen schwommen wir durch den Meeresgrund - nur 95 Millionen Jahre später, die jetzt wie riesige Geschichtsbücher mit Erzählungen über Verwitterung und Abtragung des Sandsteins wirken. Ein Fisch unter uns erwies sich als besonders kitzlig und wurde "Killerfisch" getauft. Auf dem Brand angekommen steuerten wir direkt auf die Brand-Baude zu und genossen das weite Panorama der herbstlich bunten Sächsischen Schweiz. Der Blick reicht hier von den Schrammsteinen bis zum Basteigebiet. In der Baude wurden anschließend die reservierten Plätze besetzt und eine warme Mahlzeit eingenommen. Wie sich später herausstellte stand uns der eigentliche Kraftakt noch bevor. Ein letzter Blick noch von der "Aussicht Hafersäcke" und weiter ging es die Brandstufen hinab ins Tal, um dann wieder den Malerweg bergauf nach Waitzdorf aufzunehmen. Das war ein sehr einprägsamer Aufstieg und bot Anlass zu einer Verschnaufpause. Wenige Schritte über den goldfarbenen Blätterteppich weiter boten sich zwei Aussichten mit reizvollem Blick auf den Lilienstein sowie einem wunderschönen Panorama an. Bei letzterem ist ein Kreuz mit Blumenkranz zu entdecken. 2005 stürzte mit fast 19 Jahren eine Frau vom Felsen. Es ist ein Gedenken an "Stefanie", aber auch eine Mahnung an die Lebenden, die ungesicherten Aussichtsplattformen extrem vorsichtig zu betreten. Der Abstieg zum Ort Kohlmühle entlang eines Baches wirkte mystisch und verschlungen und führte zum Eingang des Kohlichtgrabens. Wir durchquerten den liebevoll gestalteten Ort Kohlmühle und gewannen durch unsere vorzeitige Ankunft an der (H) Goßdorf-Kohlmühle noch etwas Wegstrecke entlang der Sebnitz bis nach Porschdorf dazu, womit es unverhofft eine Rundwanderung wurde.</div><div id="bkmrk-" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); An der Naturbühne Leupoldishain legten wir die erste größere Verschnaufpause ein. Wenige Schritte weiter genossen wir den Panoramablick auf die Festung Königstein, den Lilienstein, Quirl und komplett wolkenverhangen: den Pfaffenstein. Vom Ausblick auf dem Bernhardstein wurde der Blick weiter in den Osten geöffnet. Hinab ging es nach Bielatal. Nach einer Rast ging es jetzt schnurstraks dem grünen Punkt folgend in Richtung Pfaffenstein und den Malerweg entlang am Quirl vorbei zurück zum Ausgangspunkt, den Bahnhof in Königstein, und nach einer Minute Wartezeit in die S-Bahn.</div><div id="bkmrk--3" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); Vom Parkplatz in Reinhardtsdorf nahmen 14 Wanderer Kurs auf den Zirkelstein, um von dort aus Blickkontakt zum Tagesziel und höchsten Gipfel der Sächsischen Schweiz bzw. deutschen Teil des Elbsandsteingebirges, dem Großen Zschirnstein, aufzunehmen. Dieser hielt als kulturellen Höhepunkt eine im Mai 2011 aufgestellte, restaurierte historische Triangulationssäule bereit, die 1865 zur Vermessung des Königreiches Sachsen unter der Leitung von Prof. Christian August Nagel aufgebaut wurde.  
Bei 541,4 m über dem Kronstädter Pegel (ü. HN56) wehte uns ein lausiger Wind um die Ohren - hin zum benachbarten Gipfel des Kleinen Zschirnsteins. Von dort blickten wir über Kleingießhübel hinweg zu vielen bekannten Tafelbergen, wie dem Lilienstein. Ihren Abschluss fand die Wanderung auf der Kaiserkrone, dessen Namensgebung sich bei Besteigen der drei Felsen (Zacken) mit grandiosen Aussichten erschließt.</div><div id="bkmrk-" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);
